All that is faded, is not old.

I am reminded of the very first storybook I ever got. A book of my own. Before that it had always been borrowed books from the library, books that were sometimes missing a page or had scribbles all over them. Books which had to be read fast, fast, fast because the faster you read, the more you got to read (though poor mom had to lug huge little me, and huge bag of huge books to the library every Sunday. Not to mention the long long queues and the loud stamping sounds by my lovely friend the librarian).

But my first book, an Enid Blyton, made me fall in love with reading, a habit that stayed, and I’m glad it did.

The book is now long gone, given away. But I still long for the thick, woody-textured, yellowing pages of old Enid Blyton books. Those lovely illustrated covers, the black and white illustrations inside, and those simple words that stirred my imagination about trees with tops which reached into many magical lands, escapades of little children in groups of fives and sevens, and family stories of living in an old english town in a boarding school filled with night adventures and dormitory midnight snacks.

I particularly enjoyed the story about a little boy who was taken in by the circus, I think his name was Jimmy, who was one of the first dog (or animal) whisperers. This old, faded animal series of necklaces and brooches pays tribute to this amazing series.

These creatures are ready to greet you in Dulcetfig! They come as both necklaces and brooches so you can choose to wear them near your heart, or maybe your heart on your sleeve 😉

Aren't rabbits just the cutest things? Well, these are total characters on their own. A mime, a magician and a .... ghost of one?

Cats, bears and rabbits. Aren't they all soft & furry. Hmm...
