Merry Christmas to one and to all!

25 Dec

It’s time! To make merry, to give thanks, to be with your loved ones, to lift a prayer.

This Christmas let’s take a moment to remember those who are not around you. Even those you may not personally now but whom you know are in need.

Take a moment this Christmas.

We’ll be taking ours on Christmas Day but will be back on Boxing Day ready to ship your items. πŸ™‚

Have a blessed Christmas!

Can’t say thank you enough!

A huge thank you to Public Garden for another lovely weekend.

And a huge THANK YOU to all of you who came down to help or to bring yummy food and say hi! .

It was great meeting new and old friends, a getting-to-know-you kinda moment really.

We do hope you all had fun!

If you saw something you liked but didn’t get a chance to during the weekend, our online shop is still open 24-7!

Imaginary Friends not so imaginary

20 May

I’ve had the privilege to make a badge for a friend recently to promote her latest book, Imaginary Friends. And I finally got down to reading her book just a couple of days ago (though the e-book was out quite some time ago. Thanks for the signed copy, Mel!).

So happy to see her doing what she loves, and having fun and managing her family life with her profession at the same time. It probably took quite a bit of juggling, but like most creatives out there, it’s one step at a time.

Imaginary Friends

Love that it’s such a digestible book which are fables, not fairytales, so even though there isn’t always a happy ending, there’s a lesson to be learned. In fact, I found myself using all my self-control to NOT skip right to the end to see what the moral of the story was!

Having known Mel since our uni days, it’s not only refreshing to be able to hear her voice in every story, but also to get a glimpse of the journey she has taken through the years after, even though we were not always in constant contact. No doubt her quiet, keen observation of situations and people around her, coupled with her experiences and growth have helped her make each character so clear, and funny.

2 characters I particularly loved were:

 • Chucky the Calico Cat. This reminded me a little of a Roald Dahl short story.Β  Wise advice there. (Read the book if you want to the see the moral of the story!)
 • Nelly the Nice Necklace :p A good reminder that there’s always 2 side to a coin. Or maybe if you find a coin that doesn’t, don’t flip it ;p

So if you’d like a good rainy afternoon bus-ride read (I finished mine getting from Ang Mo Kio to Orchard on the bus with rain pouring down outside!), get a physical copy at Books Actually, Books Kinokuniya or MPH Bookstores.

Looking forward to her next book!

16 Dec

Yesterday marked the last weekend for us at the Public Garden Christmas Market at TripleOne Somerset.

And a BIG Thank You to everyone who came down and helped us in ways big and small!

Every minute was exciting, be it seeing how customers interacted with our products or meeting like-minded and talented creatives who simply blew us away with their humility. And kudos to the Public Garden team for nurturing a market with such good vibes.

And it was such fun planning hijinks with a good friend pling. Truly appreciate all the love and feedback, we have learnt lots!

It’s a great start to our roadshow experience, and perhaps you’ll see more of us in the new year.

Quiet cosy alone-time curled up on the couch with an egg-nog and furry pals or full-on par-tehs with feather boas and well, egg-nog (of a different kind!), Happy holidays everyone!

Dog lovers unite!

13 Dec

Don’t get me wrong, I love almost everything furry… bunnies, squirrels, bears, cats…. but having grown up with dogs, these cuddly creatures still capture my heart every single time.

I would say it’s an addiction. Almost. ;P And at a clever Instagram friend’s suggestion, this is birthed!

They’re for sale at SGD$24 each (excluding shipping. Local shipping is SGD$2 and International SGD$3 normal airmail. If you’d like registered mail, please add SGD$2).

While we work on getting our shopping website up, please email me to make your order! And best of all, customisation (Corgi, doxie, golden, labrador, Border Collie, Beagle… ) available at no additional cost (only for this doggie range). Or if you have anything else you’d like to say (please add SGD$2 if wordings besides the breed is different), let me know and I’ll customise a special one for you!

And wishing everyone Happy Holidays!
