photoWe started out from a small corner of the room. And the corner’s still there, just a lot messier and it has taken over the three other corners. But we are still thankful for the encouragement we have had from our customers, old stalwart friends and newfound ones.

From to our blog, and now our ownย shopping site . We have gone through piles of materials, discarded even more and had series succeed and failed.

We are small and quiet. But we like things big, funny and bold.

But most importantly, we are blessed to be able to do this in the first place. Every day, every minute in gratitude. Here’s to staying strong in thankfulness.

Thank you for traveling this journey with us. It has only just begun!

Are you in a triangle?

13 Sep
Just thinking about shapes in general. How could each apply to your life?
Put on a spot? Maybe you just feel like life’s an endless circle that repeats itself.
Square? 4 right angles that possibly sit in comfort, solid and firm.
Triangle? Now that’s a shape I like. Tension with a balancing point. In this world filled with extremes and imbalances, an imperfect world that has sinned, finding that crucial middle point will keep you balanced. Let’s face it, you may never rid yourself of the tensions, but at least you can look up and see where the middle points toward – Up. And on God. Now, focus on that.
And of course, I couldn’t help my itchy hands and finally I have some new after a 2-month pause. Phew.
They are all available in Dulcetfig (They are so wonderful at supporting local handmade!) or I’ll also be slowly putting them up for sale in my etsy shop. I welcome any feedback or suggestions too!
Grey & turquoise. Dangle earrings about 4 inches long.
Make your “point”…hehe, maybe two!
Hand-cut, hand-drilled, hand-sewn. Had lots of fun! ๐Ÿ™‚
Lies around the chest area. If you’d like it shorter or longer, just give me a shout! ๐Ÿ™‚
For days when you feel less complicated and your mind’s clear as day.
When a single point has many angles ๐Ÿ™‚

Now time to get some reading done, a pile of books on my bed for me to dive into! ๐Ÿ™‚

Till the next installment, have fun (and sometimes perhaps a little pain, after all a few falls are necessary) finding your balance!

Sshhh….. a little quiet time please

25 Mar
Don’t you sometimes wish you could say “Sshhh!” There’s just so much going on all the time, it’s almost impossible to find a few seconds of real silence when you can think, breathe and re-fill.
I used to think I’m a super-multi-tasking-person. But I think as I age, the importance of some quiet time of my own supersedes everything else. Even for a few seconds, to go somewhere deeper and to just be.
I look forward to quiet time everyday. A little time of silence so His word can be heard.
How do you find your own piece of heaven here on earth without physically going anywhere?

Laced Pretties

22 Mar
Which girl doesn’t like a bit of lace? Even though I can’t really wear lace because it just isn’t my style, I do like to see it on others and here’s sharing a bit of those.
Conjuring up images of a relaxed, countryside with pastel polka-dotted curtains and green potted plants in white handmade hanging vases. A birdhouse in the garden and an old rocking chair on the patio.
*Please do note that all metal hoops and studs/backings are made of metal alloy. I’m not entirely certain they are nickel-free.
But if you need them to be, let me know and I’ll source them for you (costs will be adjusted accordingly).

{ shupg @ pigeonhole, Sunday, 13 March 2011 }

14 Mar
Shupg’s first outing of 2011! Would like to thank all the lovely folks who came down and the new friends made.
‘Twas a cosy sunday afternoon at Pigeonhole, the new watering hole down at Duxton Road. A breathe of fresh air amidst hectic shenton way and the buzz of chinatown. Brings back old memories of that old lane where I used to work, buying teh-o-peng at the coffeeshop for all in the office at the crack of dawn.
My take-out from today: Gotta get my blog going, I’m a decade behind! But that’s me, the auntie for you. Forever a tech-sotong. So, here’s my first blog post…. don’t slam me! I promise I’ll get to it whenever I can. ‘Tis going to be a busy year, but one I hope to spend in quiet recollection.
Anyhow, here’s a little initial tasting of my collections, I’ll be uploading more in weeks to come. In the meantime, you can take a look at my stuff at here. Prices on my blog are specially for my Singaporean customers only! (*Please do note a local normal mail shipping price of $1.50 applies to each item though combined shipping is always possible.)

Please do always email me if you see something you like, have any queries or would like to just talk about something inane.
