Shiny Glowing Spring Raindrops

23 Mar

It’s Spring!

2013-03-19 11.36.14Of course, here in Singapore it’s almost ever summer. But we can dream, we can imagine, we can pretend, can’t we? Even if it’s just for a brief moment, a glimmer of colour, a pastel raindrop. We can share the rest of the world’s joy, sorrow and in slightly more than a weeks’ time, the pain and glory of Jesus Christ.

Easter indicates a glorious spring, but it also points to something so much more important. Something so painful it’s rectification is so beautiful.

We are preparing to grief together with Christians worldwide. And then to dance and Rejoice with abandon.

Our thoughts are feelings are reflected in these new brooches ($29 and $33) at shupg. Where birds, owls, and raindrops are set free and look up into the clouds, into the skies, into Heaven.

Have a thoughtful Holy week and a joyful Easter weekend!

Am having sudden attraction (or rather, a renewed one) to ethnic designs and drawings.
Had so much fun putting shapes together and forming new shapes – exhilarating!

Where there is White and Black

23 Mar
I sometimes wish there is a clear line between white and black. Sadly, not in this world. Our mind struggles to comprehend gray but it’s difficult without a compass isn’t it?
Ok, so here’s a chunk (no matter how little) of clarity.
Monochrome Black & White (or rather, woodgrain – love the natural woody look of these!). Had so much fun thinking of possible shapes. Some resemble an abstract dog or camera (or at least that’s what I see). What do YOU see? πŸ™‚

Spring time’s Toadstools and Night-time Owls

20 Mar
Spring’s here! Though it’s perpetually hot at the equator, we are blessed to be shielded from the planet’s harsher elements.
With a new season at our doorstep, there is hope yet. Let’s keep the dreams alive, so there’s something to look forward to at the end of the road – if you believe, of course.
Here’s sharing some childhood fantasies of Dorothy & the Wizard of Oz, and nights of reading Enid Blyton’s “The Enchanted Forest” under the blankets by the cosy orange hue of torchlights and buckets of imagination.
